Gilgen know-how was in demand for the renovation of Fløibanen in Bergen, Norway. The funicular railway was equipped with a total of 31 platform screen doors and 20 door drives for the two vehicles from Gilgen.
For employee Stefan Baeriswyl, the platform screen door project was both the biggest and one of the most interesting orders to date: "The project filled me with great joy. All the doors, as well as the steelwork from Rufener AG, were installed on site by Garaventa fitters - beforehand, they were trained to install the sloping doors at our facility in Schwarzenburg." The platform screen doors are so-called parallelogram sashes. They follow the slope of the platform and have to be designed accordingly.
