New doors open at 1517 metres above sea level

At Whitsun, the renovation of the 120-year-old Meglisalp mountain inn was completed after a four-year planning and implementation phase. The installation of the three sliding doors from Gilgen Door Systems went flawlessly, but the construction site was extremely challenging, as project coordinator Arthur Partl explains: "The construction site was only accessible by helicopter. We had to specially bind and pack the material. Our fitter was on site for a week together with the electricians and carpenters. Everyone involved gave each other a helping hand." The result is a mountain guesthouse that is completely in keeping with the taste of the former founding pioneers.
