Supply chain & suppliers

By focusing on a balance of economic success, social responsibility and environmental protection in our business activities, we are able to improve the sustainability of products and solutions on an ongoing basis, enabling our customers to meet the current needs and future requirements of our society.
The principles of our code of conduct are reflected in our long-term supplier cooperations and partnerships. The sustainability performance of our supply chains and cooperation with our suppliers on its future development is a crucial concern. Our code of conduct for suppliers sets out our expectations in relation to their environmental performance, social commitment and governance.
Whenever possible, we adopt a procurement strategy based on multiple and local sourcing to reduce supplier dependency and increase flexibility and availability. Gilgen has set itself the goal of entering into long-term cooperations and partnerships and expanding its supply base on an ongoing basis.
We implement the obligations set out in the Swiss Ordinance on Due Diligence and Transparency in relation to Minerals and Metals from Conflict-Affected Areas and Child Labour (DDTrO), including due diligence in the supply chain regarding the import and processing of minerals and metals from conflict and high-risk areas. To ensure fair working conditions in our international activities and in our supply chains, we uphold the standards set out in the fight against modern slavery. Monitoring the status of the supply chain and introducing a system to evaluate and assess the risks along the supply chain is an ongoing responsibility.
