Opening Celebration first Swiss Bike Park

Swissness connects Thömus and Gilgen

On Tuesday, three employees from Marketing and Sales made a trip to Oberried (BE): To the new Swiss Bike Park and its main tenant, the bike company Thömus. At the opening party, Hans Curty, Nicole Hirs and Lea Waxenberger got an impression of the imposing, wood-clad building, the large bike course in front of it - and of course the delicious festive raclette. The three were warmly welcomed by founder and CEO Thomas Binggeli, who sees some similarities between Thömus and Gilgen Door Systems: "We are both rooted in the region, and tradition and innovation are what distinguish Gilgen and Thömus.» The Swiss Bike Park is intended to be a place of encounter. "It is a social project where people come together," explains Thomas Binggeli. That the clubhouse, as he calls the building, can really bring people together can be seen in the inclusive infrastructure. It offers features that enable hearing and visually impaired people to find their way around on their own. In addition, the clubhouse is wheelchair-accessible, made possible, among other things, by Gilgen's automated swing doors at the disabled toilets

Thömus Bike stands for high-tech bicycles from Switzerland. It was decided that Swissness should begin at the door of the new building: So in recent months Gilgen has installed five large exterior doors, two interior fire doors and several automated swing door drives and fire protection sliding panels in the Swiss Bike Park. But Gilgen not only built door systems in the entrances and passages, but also in a special show bike stand. This stands in front of the clubhouse and presents the high-quality and expensive bikes. To prevent the Thömus crew from having to carry bikes in and out of the show stand every day to protect them from theft overnight, Gilgen installed rolling grilles around it. The staff can thus easily close the automated rolling grilles before closing time and open them again the next morning without any effort. It is a precisely fitting door system.
