The huge IFEMA exhibition hall between Madrid airport and city centre was a hive of activity at the beginning of the month: The SMARTDOORS trade fair attracted national and international visitors and exhibitors in droves to the Spanish capital. Gilgen Door Systems' Area Manager in Spain, Marcos Francoli, organised the stand and presentation together with Maria Rigon from Marketing.
The visitors were diverse: multi-brand installers, students, managing directors and technical managers from small and large companies visited the stands to familiarise themselves with innovative products and exchange ideas in technical discussions. The event programme also included national forums and congresses as well as lectures and panels. The focus was on trends and new perspectives for the industry. In particular, the real challenges and opportunities were discussed.
International companies in Spain
SMARTDOORS has been part of IFEMA since 2018, which was held for the first time over 30 years ago. It also includes four other trade fairs such as CONSTRUCTEC and VETECO. A total of over 800 companies were on site. One topic was particularly present in the professional atmosphere of the event: safety and regulations. The companies provided information about their products and services, focussing on the key aspects of the Spanish market: speed of delivery and prices.
Most of the companies represented were international companies with their own logistical and commercial structure in Spain - Gilgen was the exception in this respect. Nevertheless, Gilgen holds an outstanding position in terms of quality and is ranked in the top three. For Marcos Francoli, it is clear that Spain's market still has a lot of potential.
