Sihlcity

The area near the river Sihl, became the site of the Sihlcity shopping and leisure centre in 2007. From 1837, and until the bulldozers moved in 2003, the area had been the site of several paper mills. Preserved reminders of this Industrial organisations heritage include a 65-metre-high brickworks chimney, along with three other historic buildings that have been successfully blended into this “city within the city”. Sihlcity, which now occupies some 100,000 square metres of floor space, is a shoppers’ paradise, complete with various restaurants, bars, cafés and other facilities.
