The DNA of our PSD products combines a high level of safety, long-term reliability, outstanding performance and stylish design with high-quality workmanship. Our PSD systems embody the "Swiss-made" spirit: We design, manufacture and install our PSD systems in Schwarzenburg near Bern in Switzerland. Our assembly experts then take care of the installation, commissioning and integration of the PSD systems into the transport system where they belong.
In our design office, our team of engineers and technicians work according to international standards and internally developed methods to design the PDS system in accordance with our customers' specifications and, whenever possible, add value based on Gilgen's experience, such as safety in design. Our design is definitely special and gives a sense of quality and robustness to the final product.
Based on the design approved by the customer, Gilgen produces the PDS elements using high-quality Swiss-made components. Some parts are manufactured directly in our factory in Schwarzenburg, other parts are sourced locally through our network of long-standing suppliers with whom we have a trusted working relationship. As soon as the parts are available, our core components (electronics and drive mechanisms) are assembled in our factory by Gilgen's teams. All elements are quality checked and prepared for shipment according to project and internal requirements.
Wherever our PDS product is installed, Gilgen deploys experienced personnel to supervise the PDS installation to ensure that the finished product meets the customer's expectations. As safety during installation is a top priority, Gilgen works with the customer and all project stakeholders to maximize the time efficiency of the installation on a "best for project" basis, drawing on experience from previous projects (new transport system or retrofit).
Thanks to the high quality of our Swiss-made PDS product, Gilgen can personally test the platform screen doors on site once installation is complete and quickly perform all tests to prove PDS performance. The PDS system is now available to support the integration testing of the transportation system.
Our design, based on robust and simple assemblies, gives our PDS system reliability and easy maintenance requirements. Our PDS system has integrated monitoring functions that provide live information to the operator and maintenance personnel so that all necessary measures can be taken before a failure occurs.
