Äskulap-Apotheke Berlin

Äskulap-Apotheke Berlin

The Märkisches Zentrum was the largest shopping centre in the north of Berlin and the focal point and marketplace of the entire Märkisches Viertel district. The centre, which was built in the 1960s, has seen its best years and is being extensively redesigned. The new Märkisches Quartier is being created. The concept includes the transformation from a shopping centre to a multifunctional and flexible mixed-use location: marketplace, sports and cultural facilities, shopping and health centre, new flats, restaurants, park, retail and office space, roof garden and extended medical practices. The health centre includes the Äskulap pharmacy. The entrance area to the sales area is characterised by a glass front that allows plenty of light into the interior. A double-leaf sliding door from Gilgen allows customers to enter and leave the pharmacy without contact and in a hygienic manner.
